Graetz, Heinrich

Graetz, Heinrich
(1817-91)
   German historian and biblical scholar. He was born in Xions, in the district of Posen. He lectured in Jewish history and the Bible at the Jewish Theological Seminary of Breslau; in 1869 he was made an honorary professor at the university there. His multi-volume History of the Jews influenced subsequent Jewish historians.
